A year ago I wrote a novel called War Stores about a supermarket chain called Costcrushers that imbued its staff with magical powers so that they could engage in retail-based warfare for glory and profit. Every Costcrushers staff got a weapon that was in some way related to their station. Protagonist Lester Chester used a pair of unmarked cans that he could use like Xena’s chakram.
